OHIO SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION COMMISSION
ELECTION LEGAL NOTICE
The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Hocking Soil and Water Conservation District to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Hocking Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.
There are three ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:
(1) At the Hocking SWCD office from October 8, 2025 until November 6, 2025 during normal business hours 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; or
(2) At the Hocking SWCD Annual Meeting & Banquet, Thursday, November 6, 2025 at The Logan High School 14470 OH-328 Logan, OH. 43138 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
(3) Vote absentee from October 8, 2025 until November 6, 2025, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the HSWCD office at the following address 148 N. Homer Ave., Logan, OH. 43138, by calling 740-385-3016, or email [email protected].
One Supervisor will be elected to three-year terms commencing January 1, 2026 and ending December 31, 2028

Meet the Candidates
Cammie Starner, her husband, Dan, and their three children are a first-generation farming family that lives on a 25-acre farm, located in Marion Township. Cammie raises various livestock and harvests hay. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Ohio University, and Masters of Organizational Communication also from Ohio University. Cammie is a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church in Logan. Cammie has volunteered with Hocking SWCD by planting flowers down town and at Bishop Educational Gardens. She and her family also help with education programs and outreach.
Fred Walter and his wife Kristy, live in Logan, Ohio. They have three children and two grandchildren. Fred is a Logan High School graduate and was an Ag Ed Teacher and FFA Advisor for 35 years at LHS. He has a B.S. Degree in Agriculture and a M.S. Degree in Ag. Education from Ohio State University. He is an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Fred and his family own and operate a 325-acre farm with 203 acres managed as a woodland. The farm also includes grasslands for pasture, hay production, wildlife food plots and pollinator habitat. They maintain a cow-calf herd of registered Angus cows. The Walters have been cooperators with Hocking SWCD and are Farm Bureau Members. Fred is completing his sixth year as a Hocking SWCD Supervisor.
